I’m done with safe prayers

Luke 7:1–23 | June 25, 2026

The Roman centurion "believed so strongly in Jesus" unlike anyone else, even "among the people of God." (v9) I feel like this would have been more common throughout Christian history than it actually was during the time of Jesus. But I want to be among those Jesus would describe this way. I want that kind of faith. I want to trust like the centurion. He believed for the impossible.

I believe God can. I'm just not sure he will. But I believe our prayers actually change the heart of God and move him to action.

So, God, move in power—in me, in Passion Church, in Palm Springs, in Desert Hot Springs, and throughout the Coachella Valley. Provide overflowing finances and resources. Help us sell our land. Open the door at Olive Crest. Bring revival. Bring people. Transform people.

Keep our average weekly attendance above 45 through the summer. Bring 100 people in Palm Springs by Easter. Fifty in Desert Hot Springs. Then keep going. One thousand in Palm Springs. Five hundred in Desert Hot Springs. Five thousand throughout the Coachella Valley. Seven churches. On fire for you. I want to believe the impossible and inspire others to do the same.

And like Jesus, let my "heart break for the people here. The deepest level of compassion. Great tenderness." (v13)Do the miracles in and through me. "Heal many of their incredible diseases. Free many from their suffering. Drive out demonic spirits." (v21) "Bring hope of salvation to the poor and broken." (v22) Bring the blessing of heaven upon Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, and the Coachella Valley. (v23)

"Let a tremendous sense of holy mystery sweep over the Coachella Valley." (v16) Make "the news of Jesus and your works race throughout the Coachella Valley and beyond." (v17) Do so much that people have your name—and Passion Church—on their tongues and minds constantly.
