How to Use This Week’s Readings:

Each day, take about 5–10 minutes to pause, slow down, and be with Jesus.
1. Look up the verse in your Bible or Bible app.
2. Read the short devotional thought.
3. End by praying the one-line prayer, and sit with it for a moment.
You don’t need to rush or check a box. The goal is simple: to rest in Jesus’ presence and let him lead your day.

More Than This, Part 3: You were made to love others by serving them (March 16-22)

Day 1 – Monday

Scripture: Psalm 16.11

In this psalm, David reflects on where true joy is found. He says that fullness of joy is found in God’s presence. The verse doesn’t deny that life contains many good experiences, but it points to something deeper. The deepest and most lasting joy flows from relationship with God himself.

This connects to Sunday’s reminder that the good things of life are not the problem. Beauty, fun, and enjoyment are part of God’s design. But when we expect those things to satisfy the deepest parts of our hearts, they eventually fall short. Today, enjoy something good and let it lead your gratitude back to God.

God, help me see your goodness behind every good gift.

Day 2 – Tuesday

Scripture: James 1.17

James reminds believers that every good and perfect gift comes from God. The things that make life feel rich—friendship, laughter, meaningful work, beautiful places—are not random. They are expressions of the generosity of the One who made us.

Sunday’s message reminded us that the gifts of life are meant to point beyond themselves. When we treat them as the final destination, they cannot carry that weight. But when we receive them as gifts from God, they deepen our gratitude and joy. Today, pause and notice something good in your life, and thank God for it.

🌿 Father, thank you for the gifts that remind me of your generosity.

Day 3 – Wednesday

Scripture: John 6.35

In John 6, Jesus describes himself as the bread of life. Bread was the most basic food in the ancient world—something people depended on daily. By using that image, Jesus was saying that he is the true source of the life people are really searching for.

Sunday’s message explored the restless feeling many people carry. Even when life looks good, something inside still longs for more. Jesus’ words help explain why. Our hearts were designed to be satisfied in him. Today, notice where your heart feels restless and bring that longing to Jesus.

🍞 Jesus, teach me to look to you for the life my heart is seeking.

Day 4 – Thursday

Scripture: John 4.14

When Jesus spoke with the woman at the well, he described a kind of water that would never leave someone thirsty again. He was talking about the life that comes from knowing God through him.

Many people spend their lives trying to satisfy their deepest thirst with success, experiences, or comfort. Those things can be enjoyable, but they cannot fully satisfy the heart. Sunday’s message reminded us that the deeper life we are looking for is found in Jesus. Today, take a moment to invite him into whatever part of your life feels empty or dry.

💧 Jesus, lead me to the life that only you can give.

Day 5 – Friday

Scripture: Psalm 63.1

David writes about his soul thirsting for God in a dry and weary land. The language is vivid because it describes a deep longing for something only God can provide.

Sunday’s message reminded us that the longing many people feel is not a problem to solve but a signal pointing toward God. Our hearts were created for relationship with him. Instead of ignoring that longing or trying to cover it with distractions, we can allow it to draw us closer to God. Today, bring your deepest desires and questions honestly before him.

🌅 God, help my heart find its true satisfaction in you.

Day 6 – Saturday

Scripture: Colossians 1.16–17

Paul writes that all things were created through Jesus and for him. The entire created world ultimately points back to its Creator. The beauty and wonder of life are not meant to stop with themselves.

Sunday’s message reminded us that the good things of life are signposts. They point toward something greater. Instead of trying to squeeze ultimate meaning from experiences or possessions, we can allow them to remind us of the One behind them. Today, when you experience something beautiful or enjoyable, pause and let it turn your attention to Jesus.

🌎 Jesus, open my eyes to see you behind the beauty of this world.

Day 7 – Sunday

Scripture: John 10.10

In John 10, Jesus says he came so people could have life to the full. He contrasts his mission with voices that steal, destroy, and diminish life. Jesus describes himself as the one who leads people into a richer, deeper life.

Sunday’s message reminded us that life under the sun can be beautiful, but it was never designed to be ultimate. The rich and satisfying life Jesus offers grows from knowing him. As you gather today, remember that the invitation of Jesus is not about escaping life, but about discovering the deeper life he came to give.

🌿 Jesus, help me experience the rich life you came to give.

Day 1 – Monday

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3.11

In Ecclesiastes, the writer reflects on life and recognizes something deeper going on beneath everyday experience. He says that God has placed eternity in the human heart. That means the longing people feel for more is not random. It is something God designed.

Sunday’s message reminded us that this longing is not just something we experience. It is something others around us are feeling too. The same question that lives in you lives in them. Today, pay attention to the people in your life. Who might be carrying that quiet sense that there has to be more?

🙏 God, help me see the people around me the way you do.

Day 2 – Tuesday

Scripture: Luke 15.4

Jesus tells a story about a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to go after one that wandered. The focus of the story is not the sheep’s failure, but the shepherd’s pursuit. It reveals a God who actively moves toward people who are far from him.

Sunday’s message reminded us that this story is not just about God’s heart. It is also about our role. We were the one God came after, and now we get to join him in reaching others. Today, ask God to bring one person to mind who you can move toward this week.

🐑 Jesus, help me reflect your heart for people who are far from you.

Day 3 – Wednesday

Scripture: Matthew 5.14

Jesus tells his followers that they are the light of the world. Light is meant to be seen. It is not hidden or kept to itself. It naturally shines outward and affects the space around it.

Sunday’s message reminded us that following Jesus does not stop with us. The life we have received is meant to be shared. Today, consider one simple way you can let your faith be visible through a conversation, an invitation, or an act of care.

💡 Jesus, help my life point others toward you.

Day 4 – Thursday

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5.20

Paul describes believers as ambassadors for Christ. An ambassador represents someone else and carries their message into the world. This means that God chooses to work through ordinary people to reach others.

Sunday’s message reminded us that you are not in your relationships by accident. God has placed you in specific spaces with specific people for a reason. Today, take a step of courage and initiate something. Send a text, start a conversation, or extend an invitation.

📩 God, give me courage to represent you in my everyday life.

Day 5 – Friday

Scripture: Romans 10.14

Paul asks how people can believe in Jesus if they have never heard about him. This highlights the importance of simple, relational moments where people are invited to hear and respond.

Sunday’s message reminded us that the win is not having all the answers. The win is opening a door. An invitation can be the first step in someone’s journey. Today, think of one person you can invite to sit with you at church.

📱 Jesus, help me take a simple step to invite someone this week.

Day 6 – Saturday

Scripture: Colossians 3.17

Paul encourages believers to do everything in the name of Jesus. This includes everyday interactions, not just big spiritual moments. Ordinary actions can carry deep meaning when they are done with intention.

Sunday’s message reminded us that making a difference often starts small. A conversation, a kind word, or an invitation can have a lasting impact. Today, look for a simple opportunity to care for someone or reach out.

🤝 God, use the small things I do to make a difference in someone’s life.

Day 7 – Sunday

Scripture: Luke 15.6

In the story of the lost sheep, the shepherd celebrates when the sheep is found. The moment of someone being brought back is not quiet or small. It is worth celebrating.

Sunday’s message reminded us that every person matters deeply to God. As you gather today, remember that someone’s life could be changed by a simple invitation. You were made to make a difference in someone else’s life.

🎉 Jesus, use me to help someone experience your love and life.
