It’s Not Arrogant to Want to Be Significant

Entering the Ordinary

Everything Jesus did, he did to be with us. (p14) You left heaven.

You lived an ordinary life. In a quiet village. In an ordinary job. With ordinary friends. In a life a lot like mine. To be with us.

Then you suffered. You died. You were rejected. So you could be with us.

The God of the universe. You left your throne. Took on the ordinary. Died in my place. So you could be with me.

Thank you.

Habitation of the Eternal

"Everyone naturally wants in some way to be extraordinary, outstanding" (p14) Because this is your intention for us.

It's "not egotism" (p15). "The drive to significance is a simple extension of the creative impulse of God that gave us being."

"We were built to count... We are placed in a specific context to count in ways no one else does. That is our destiny.... And he has the resources to carry through with his high estimation of us." (p15)

Oh God, this redeems & validates my desire to be extraordinary, outstanding, significant. To make an impact. To have influence. To be a catalyst of powerful change in the CV. You made me like this. You gave me this desire.

It's not egotism. It's not pride. It's not arrogance to think it. Because it's from you. It's for you.

I am designed to count. And you put me here in PS. Now. In this moment. For my destiny.

YHWH, I want to see the entire CV transformed. In your power. For your glory. Through your presence.

And you want it even more. And you can do it. I believe you will.

Use me here, Oh God.
