Not to be repetitive, but honestly, it's Luke's fault! Jesus is
"the Revelation-Light for all people everywhere!" (32)
Simeon is "praising God" for the impact Jesus will have on Israel & the whole world.
Jesus is the Light that reveals who God really is in the darkest of places.
We desperately need this in PS & DHS for two reasons.
(1) People misunderstand who God is.
I'm excited for our new series, Mountains.
Father, use this series to open our hearts to who you really are. Not what we've been taught. Not the Christianized version of you. But the real you. The one who wants to welcome all people (every person, all types of people) back to your amazing love.
Father, use Passion Church to declare & proclaim the truth of who you are.
(2) So many people feel far from you because of their actions, lifestyle, beliefs.
Help them see that they are still welcome, no matter their story.
Always.
Father, bring a fresh understanding of who you are to the people of the CV.
I want to learn to love you more as I learn to see you more clearly & accurately.
I want your Holy Spirit to lead me. Daily. Internally. Each moment. Each decision. Each word that comes from my mouth.
Lead me where you want me to go. Go before us into DHS. Close that door if it's not where you want us. If you're not going before us. Lead us where you want to use Passion Church.
Lord, rest the Spirit of holiness upon us.
We praise you for who you are. All you've done. All you are about to do.
We stand in awe of you.
I want to be like Anna. After a horrible, challenging tragedy in her life, she responded by
"choosing to worship God in the temple continually." (37)
No matter what happens, I want worship to be my ultimate response.
I want to spend every day with you.
Help me to want this more than anything.
Let's spend every moment together.
Help me to be aware of your presence constantly.
I want my life to be a constant experience of seeing you do amazing things that lead to repeatedly
"bursting forth w/ a great chorus of praise." (38)
And then I want to do what Anna did:
"she told everyone that the Savior had come!" (38)
If the wonderful news of Jesus is for everyone, then I want to share it with everyone.
If you want every person to experience your love, I want Passion Church to tell everyone.
Every. Single. One.
All 500,000 people in the CV.
Father, I want your Spirit to work in me.
I want to
"grow more powerful in grace. Fill me w/ wisdom. I want your favor upon" my life. (42)
Lord, do powerful, mighty, and miraculous things in & through me!
I want to
"consumed w/ you" (49)
and consumed by you.
YHWH, may
"the favor of the people in PS/DHS increase in my life." (52)
Continue to shift the way people think about church.
Continue to supernaturally work in me to build relationships in town.
You've done amazing things.
I want to see more.
We will praise you for all of it.
I know you can.
I know you want to.
I know you will.
Because I know I am
"greatly loved by God."
