Jesus Is For EVERYONE

Luke 2:1–24

6/3

The angels say the birth of Jesus is "good news, the most joyous news the world has ever heard!" (v10) "And it is for everyone everywhere."

That. Right. There.

I don't think Christians really understand this today. Oh, they say it, but they don't mean it. Only for those who are like them. Or willing to become like them.

I think we've made progress on racism & ethnic culture issues. But what's it called when you discriminate based on political & moral perspectives?

Because obviously the Gospel of the American church today is not for those who believe in evolution, climate change, open borders, gay marriage, or abortion.

Christians do one of two things with those who disagree on these topics:

  1. They argue & debate about these topics and forget to focus on the wonderful news of Jesus.

Or

  1. They lead people to convert to Jesus & then crack them with the option to convert on these topics as well, or be ostracized from the church & even social acceptance.

It's ridiculous!

The wonderful news of Jesus is for everyone everywhere... even those who disagree with us politically & morally.

Saying yes to Jesus challenges our thinking & worldview, but it doesn't mandate our positions on extra-biblical topics.

God, may Passion Church always remember that Jesus is for everyone.

v11: Jesus is our Rescuer. He is the Lord Yahweh, the Messiah of Israel & the Savior of the world. He is our only hope of salvation & source of true life.

God, we are ecstatic over all he has done (v20). We praise you! We glorify you, for all we have heard & all we have experienced for ourselves!
