I Want This to Spread Like Wildfire

Jesus overflowed with the Holy Spirit (v1) and this is what enabled the miraculous in his life.

But the Spirit's leading is not always into comfort and ease.

He may lead us, like Jesus, into places where we will be proven, tested, and strengthened for our future ministry.

Spirit of God, this is what you've done to me.

I would never have chosen that path and those stops.

Never!

And yet I can see how you used each trial and each situation to prepare us for Passion Church.

Honestly, I can't say thank you for it all yet.

But thank you for redeeming it all.

Thank you for who you're forming me to be for this moment.

Because the Spirit was on/in him, he is powerfully used to bring hope for the poor, healing for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind.

And to announce freedom!

"The time of God's great acceptance has begun." (v18–19)

Spirit, use me like this in Palm Springs and the CV.

Everyone here needs hope and healing and new eyes and freedom.

Use Passion to let people know God accepts them!

(It's ironic to read "no prophet is welcomed or honored in his own hometown" as I sit here in my hometown and know it's true... (v24))

Reports about Jesus spread like wildfire throughout every community in the surrounding area. (v37)

Father, let this be true in the CV!

Jesus is amazing.

The gospel is so wonderful.

As it transforms the lives of people and the miraculous happens, I want everyone to know how amazing you are.

Let the buzz spread like wildfire for decades to come!

We can't stay just in Palm Springs.

"Don't you know there are other places we must go and offer the hope of God's Kingdom? This is what I have been sent to do." (v43)

"Jesus continued to travel and preach in the synagogues throughout the land." (v44)

In the same way, Passion will spread throughout the desert and open churches for all the people to hear and experience the wonderful news of Jesus.

But Jesus continually

"left to go to a secluded place." (v42)

This is where his power came from.

Spirit, fill me.

Lead me.

Use me.

Here I am.

I am yours.

Send me.
