Daily Readings — God is stronger than whatever is shaking your life

Monday

Psalm 46.1–3

Psalm 46 does not pretend life is always calm. The earth gives way. Mountains fall. Waters roar. Everything that once felt dependable begins to move.

But before the psalm describes any of that, it tells us who God is: our refuge, our strength, and an ever-present help in trouble.

The trouble may be powerful, but it is not more powerful than the God who is with you in it. You do not have to deny what is shaking. You can bring it honestly into the presence of someone stronger.

Take ten minutes today and tell God what is actually shaking you. Do not clean it up or try to sound spiritual. Just be honest.

🌄 God, this is what feels unstable in my life right now: ________. Thank you for being present with me in the middle of it.

Tuesday

Psalm 46.5–7

The mountains are falling, but the city of God remains secure. Not because the city is naturally strong enough, but because God is there.

God’s presence does not mean nothing difficult will happen. It means difficulty does not get the final word. Our security is not found in keeping life calm. It is found in knowing who is with us when life is not calm.

You do not have to be the fortress. God is offering to be your fortress.

Take ten minutes today and admit what you cannot control. Name the outcome you have been trying to manage, predict, or prevent.

🪨 God, I cannot control ________. Help me release my grip and remember that you are with me.

Wednesday

Matthew 11.28–30

Jesus invites tired and burdened people to come to him. He does not wait for them to become stronger, fix their problems, or get their lives together first.

Jesus knows how exhausting it is to carry fear, responsibility, regret, and uncertainty. His invitation is not “try harder.” It is “come to me.”

Leaning on God begins with saying YES to Jesus. It can be as simple as admitting, “Jesus, I cannot hold all of this together. I need you. I trust you with my life.”

Take ten minutes today and run toward Jesus instead of running through every possible outcome in your head.

🤲 Jesus, I need you. I cannot carry all of this alone. Teach me to trust you with my life.

Thursday

Isaiah 40.28–31

Our strength runs out. God’s does not.

God does not shame tired people for being tired. He gives strength to the weary. He meets us where our ability ends and reminds us that everything does not depend on us.

Leaning on God does not mean avoiding responsibility. You still take the next faithful step. But you stop carrying the pressure to control every outcome.

Take ten minutes today and ask God for the strength you do not have. Be specific about where you feel tired, afraid, or overwhelmed.

🌿 God, my strength is running low in ________. Give me what I need for the next faithful step.

Friday

Psalm 46.10–11

“Be still” is not simply an invitation to relax. It is an invitation to stop striving, release your grip, and remember who is God.

Whatever is shaking your world may feel enormous, but it has not changed who God is. He has not lost control. He has not left you. He is still strong, still present, and still your refuge.

You can loosen your grip because God has not lost his.

Take ten minutes today and trust God with the outcome. Tell him what you hope will happen, then place the result into his hands.

🕊️ God, I hope ________. But I trust you with what happens next. You are stronger than whatever is shaking my life.

Saturday

Proverbs 3.5–6

Trusting God means we stop depending only on what we can understand.

We want the whole plan. We want to know what will happen, how it will happen, and when everything will finally be okay. But sometimes God only gives us enough light for the next step.

You do not have to understand everything before you trust him. You can acknowledge God in the middle of the uncertainty and allow him to lead you forward.

Take ten minutes today and ask, “God, what is the next faithful step you want me to take?” Then listen and write down whatever comes to mind.

🛡️ God, I do not understand everything happening around me, but I trust you to lead me one step at a time.

Sunday

Psalm 46

Read the entire psalm again.

Notice what has not changed. The earth still gives way. The waters still roar. Nations still rage. Trouble is still real.

But God is still our refuge. God is still our strength. God is still with us. God is still our fortress.

The goal of this week was not to make every problem disappear. It was to change where you place the weight of your life.

Today, say YES again to leaning on God instead of trying to hold everything together by yourself.

🎶 God, you are my refuge and my strength. Whatever is shaking around me today, help me run toward you and trust that you are stronger.
