Still Welcome… Because You Can Bring It All to God

Matthew 11.28–30

Jesus speaks to people who are worn out and overwhelmed. He does not offer a quick fix or a list of steps. He offers himself. “Come to me” is the invitation. Not after you recover. Not after you figure it out. Just come as you are.

This shows us something important about God. He is not waiting for a better version of you. He is inviting the real you. The tired, burdened, stretched-thin version of you.

Today, notice where you feel worn down. Instead of pushing through, pause and bring that to Jesus. Be honest about it. Let that be your starting point with him.

🙏 Jesus, I am tired in ways I do not always admit. I bring that to you today. Help me find rest in you and not feel like I have to carry everything alone. Amen.

Psalm 62.8

The psalmist says to pour out your heart to God. That language is raw and unfiltered. It is not controlled or polished. It is everything coming out as it really is.

This reminds us that prayer is not about saying the right thing. It is about saying the real thing. God already knows what is in your heart. The invitation is to bring it to him anyway.

Today, take a few minutes and just let it out. Whatever you are thinking or feeling, say it to God. Do not edit it. Do not manage it. Just be real.

🙏 God, here is what is actually going on in my heart. I do not want to hide it anymore. Help me trust that you hear me and welcome me as I am. Amen.

Hebrews 4.15–16

This passage tells us that Jesus understands our weakness. He has lived through the same kinds of struggles we face. Because of that, we can come to God with confidence instead of hesitation.

That means you are not bringing your struggles to someone who is distant or disappointed. You are bringing them to someone who gets it. Someone who responds with mercy and grace.

Today, think about where you feel like you are not enough. Bring that to God. Do not hide it. Ask for help and receive his grace in that place.

🙏 Jesus, you understand me more than I realize. I bring you my weakness today. Help me receive your grace instead of trying to hide or fix myself. Amen.

1 Peter 5.7

Peter tells us to give all our worries to God because he cares for us. Not some of them. Not the big ones only. All of them. That includes the things that feel small or repetitive.

This challenges how we think about what is “worth” bringing to God. If he cares, then it matters. Nothing in your life is too insignificant for his attention.

Today, pay attention to what keeps running through your mind. The stress, the pressure, the what-ifs. Instead of carrying it, hand it over to God one thing at a time.

🙏 God, I keep holding onto things I do not need to carry. I give them to you today. Help me trust that you care about every detail of my life. Amen.

Psalm 34.17–18

God is described as being close to the brokenhearted. Not far away. Not waiting at a distance. Close. Especially in moments when life feels heavy or painful.

This reminds us that the parts of our lives we are most tempted to hide are often the places God wants to meet us. His closeness is not based on how strong you are, but on how honest you are.

Today, if something hurts, do not cover it up. Sit with God in it. Let yourself be seen by him in that place.

🙏 God, I bring you what hurts today. Thank you that you are near and not far away. Help me experience your presence right here. Amen.

Mark 10.13–16

Jesus welcomes children and uses them as an example of how to come to God. Children are not guarded or polished. They are open, direct, and honest.

This shows us that God is not looking for a perfect presentation. He is inviting a real relationship. One where you can show up as you are without pretending.

Today, approach God simply. Talk to him like someone who already loves you. No pressure to impress. Just be real.

🙏 Jesus, help me come to you with honesty and simplicity. I do not want to pretend or perform. I just want to be real with you today. Amen.

Sunday, April 19

Psalm 55.22

This verse tells us to give our burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of us. That is not just a command. It is a promise. God does something with what we bring to him.

This is the invitation we have been talking about all week. You are still welcome because you can bring it all to God. Not part of it. All of it.

As you come to worship today, think about what you are carrying. Do not hold it back. Bring it with you and place it in God’s hands.

🙏 God, I bring you everything today. Thank you that I am still welcome with you. Help me trust you with what I am carrying and experience your care. Amen.
